I did my research before buying these. I researched many companies and styles. I wanted to make sure I was buying from an ethical company that supported their employees and I found that most of them do. Next I looked at actual reviews, and style of the shoes. Each company has slightly different designs and weaves and I liked these the best. Next I chatted with support on their website. I wanted to make sure I was ordering the right sizeI have wide feet, not like normal wide, like almost extra wide. I asked them if I should size up to accommodate for the extra width and they said, no way. I usually buy a 7.5 wide (if I can find them) but a size 8 when medium/normal is the only thing available. So I got the 7.5 and decided to trust the process.I have read that the first time you put these on (from all the different companies) it can be down right painful! So I was expecting that. And yes, it’s true! Lol. When I took them out of the box I though there was no way my foot was going in there. It did take some wrestling, I’ll be honest. I squished and squashed, pinched and pulled and stuffed these ugly-step-sisters into that glass slipper. Definitely not cozy.I’ve been wearing them only as long as it has taken me to write this review and they actually aren’t so bad. Or maybe I have just lost all feeling below the ankles. Either way, I have not lost all hope yet.I have given 4 stars because the shoes fit exactly how I was told they would. The craftsmanship is solid and beautiful. The customer service was spot on. I held back a star because the color in the listing is WAY darker than the actual color of the shoe. This is on Amazon I’m pretty sure. If you visit the website I think you get a more accurate depiction of the colors. I decided to order from Amazon because the shipping was faster and I wanted to take these on vacation next week.I will update once I have broken them in, if I can make it that long!!I have a wide ‘toe box’. This shoe fit as expected in length, however, I have a wide foot. I realize that, eventually, the shoe would have ‘broken’ in but I didn’t want to go through the blisters , etc. waiting until they did. Someone in the comments said that wearing them in water and walking around would help. Didn’t try this. I returned them. They are very high quality, real leather, made well and sturdy .I have wide feet and generally a size 39/8.5W fits me best. After reading all the reviews by others, I decided to order a half size up (9) in the color Almond. I’ll say the Almond color is much closer to “natural” than anything— SIGNIFICANTLY lighter in person, a pale beige. Not at all brown. That said, they’re beautiful, they just don’t match what I bought them for. In any case, I did keep them, and upon trying them on saw how tight they were. So, I wore them in the shower and then all throughout the day. (I know not sounds wild but it works well for leather shoes and doesn’t degrade the quality whatsoever) Over the course of the day, they molded to my feet perfectly. I’m still getting them broken in a bit more (I blister easily) but they’re looking great and have widened to where I need them to be.I’ll probably use some coconut oil on my feet to continue getting them perfectly fitted.Definitely worth the money.I have several pairs and they are so comfortable.Firstly, these fit my size 7 feet perfectly. The leather is very soft and pliable and was comfortable to wear for a first short walk without any breaking in or need for socks or bandaids. Subsequent walks continue to be comfortable. The overall quality is excellent. One star down because the shoes I ordered in the color Brandy seem to be more brown. I was expecting them to be a bit more red/reddish.The site says to size down which I did a half size. As a result the shoes are too short and need to be returned. They are cute but there is zero arch support if that is important to you. I do not view these as a comfortable walking shoes but as an occasional shoe. I wear a true 9.5M. I sized down to a 9 and they were too short. Maybe the size differences are based on color, I do not know. I chose the almond which is a great color neutral. I hope this review is helpful.I’ve worn these almost daily this summer because they go with everything, and they weren’t uncomfortable to start with, but now they’re like butter! Good craftsmanship as they still look brand new and nothing is coming loose. 10/10 recommendI was skeptical for spending so much on a pair of sandals but once I put these on I was so happy! They fit really well. I’m between a 7.5 and an 8 and went with an 8 and they’re great! I got one small blister on my heel during my first use but none after that. I can tell they’ll last a while so it was so worth it!There is a variance of 5mm between both sandals. Ordinarily, that might not be a much of a problem. However, these huaraches are meant to be fitting. So while the left sandal fits great, the right one feels comparably tight.According to the Nisolo website, wearing them in will stretch the leather to fit properly. I’m not entirely sure whether to follow that advice and to keep the huaraches. I’m a true size 7, and followed the advice to size down half. Trying to put on 6.5 was agony — so much so I ordered size 7.5 next. The left side was too lose while the right side felt alright.Due to the looseness on the left, I decided to exchange for size 7 after all. Now the left side fits perfectly but the right side is one the small side. Pity, because the finishing itself feels sturdy and the design is beautiful. One solution, I suppose would be to keep the size 7 pair for the left foot and reorder a size 7.5 pair for the right foot. Although, I can’t fathom paying double for two pairs only so that I can have two nicely fitting huaraches and a superfluous pair. That’d be such a waste of resources.
